My wife just loved the pampering on her birthday! The setting, attention to detail, personalisation and fantastic food made this an unforgettable experience - unmatched in all our travels to date! Anneri is also the best masseuse I've ever come across (and we go at least once a week!).
This is as close to nature and pure bliss as you can get - the " rooms " are luxury tented units, on wooden stilts, with a separate ( wooden ) bathroom, which included a panoramic wooden patio. We were in one of the river - front units. The view over he river and mountain in the background was spectacular. Breakfast and lunch is at the riverside caffe - the lazy river in the background a perfect backdrop. Dinners are truly special - the restaurant is a short drive to the top of the property, set amongst the herb and vegetable garden. The atmosphere is completed with large candelabras and the ever - present fresh roses. The food was exquisite and there is variety to suit all palates and even the most jaded foodie will struggle to find fault. With Summerfields being on a working rose and fruit farm, fresh roses are always present and bunches can be bought when you leave. While we had some miscalculations on the bill on check - out, my only real criticism was the spa - we had issues with the booking ( double booking ) and the treatments that we received were not the ones we had booked, and this had to be taken care of ( which it was but it was a tines blot on an otherwise perfect 5 days). This place is absolutely perfect if you want a combination of 5 star luxury in nature, good food and good wine
My wife and I decided to spend our 1st anniversary at Summerfields in Hazyview. After a long, windy and exhausting drive we were greeted by the most magnificent tented camp we have ever seen. The retreat is part of a farm that produces Roses, Macadamia nuts and Litchis and produces it's own produce for use in their outstanding kitchen. Rooms were unbelievably comfortable and showering (or bathing) in a private, open area is truly a treat. A small downside is a very tempremental wifi in room but all of the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Special mention must be made of Keith and "Mary Poppins" who went way beyond their contracts to ensure we had one of the most special days we have every had away from home. Dining wise, the dinners we expertly managed by Vincent. Expect quiet candlelight and superb meals and excellent service. The menu is limited and the dinner menu is decided on what is currently available in the gardens. Breakfast is an absolute treat and while the buffet menu could use substantially more variety, anything on the main menu is fresh and absolutely delicious. The spa was phenomenal with the sound of the river passing by I fell quietly asleep in the hands of experts. Sundowners at the boma with a warm fire is an incredible way to end every day. I CANNOT recommend Summerfields more highly. Their management, staff and attention to detail is what a spa and care is about. The only way to find out for youself is to go. As a couple needing a break away from it all or a Tourist looking for an African experience with 5* treatment you will not be disappointed!

Our stay at Summerfields was extraordinary. The staff and service is out of this world, 5 star all the way. The food is delicious. A definite honeymoon location for all those newlyweds!! The rooms are well serviced, clean and comfortable. The views of the Sabie river from the tented suites are amazing with seeing crocodiles.

What an unforgettable experience, the property is beautifully situated inside a farm, the rustic luxury, roses and silverware I was amazed by the decor. The orchards of litchis and macadamia nuts as you drive to the spa/ cafe are a treat as the litchis were ready for picking. The attention to detail surpassed my expectations, the staff are friendly and really do take pride in what they do. I had a massage in a cabin that overlooked the river which was heavenly definitely the best spa in South Africa.

My wife and I went to Summerfields for facials and back neck and shoulder massages and can safely say it was the best we've ever experienced. As you enter the gates you are met with a peaceful atmosphere full of beauty and tranquility. At the reception we were made to feel most welcome. We were ushered down to the bar lounge where we were offered drinks and had a relaxing warm foot bath filled with rose petals. We were then taken to the treatment rooms where we had our treatments. From the amazing atmospehere where the music is the flowing river to the brilliant treatments that were expertly done, we were blown away and did not want to leave. We will definitely be back for a weekend stay to experience even more of this heaven.
You will struggle to find a more idyllic setting than this. In the shade of the big indigenous trees, with the Sabie river trickling before you: you will experience great service, an interesting and flavourful menu, and some great wines to wash it all down with. This is a real good one!
As a surprise gift my friend and I received a spa treatment and lunch at Summerfields. The setting is wonderful with the dining deck overlooking the river. Whilst having lunch a whole load of colourful canoes went by. For lunch we ordered 2 different platters - seafood platter really good/ deli platter just okay. Additional green beans and aubergine dishes great. Tough bread. And then the spa treatments - fabulous. We were treated with great care by Frasette and Annari [ hope I spelt it correct] who went out of her way to produce a herbal mixture to inhale for a troublesome cough I had. I really appreciated that - it worked. Thank you ladies you made our day.

Well all I can say is don't even think about it just go but you have stay for at least a weekend it's amazing from spa to restaurants to staff you can't go wrong luxury and more. Beautifully located absolute serenity. But the main restaurant is the way to go it's like eating in Paris but in the bush the best food you will have with out waiting for months to get in to a worthy restaurant somewhere else. I will be back for sure we stayed the newly are red cabin from the 28th of December until the 3rd of January and we loved every moment. Thank you for everything summerfields owners and staff we will see you soon again.
I was about to say that this place was like an unspoiled island of the Eden garden: quite, nearby the rumbling of a river, surrounded by beautiful roses, macadamia and litchi trees, romantic suite with the bathtub overlooking the trees and a waterfall, managed by a young, international and dynamic team, offering outstanding and innovative bio-cuisine from a young Dutch chef (incl. nice SA wines), and most of all thanks to the help of the manager who had sorted out our issues with the rental car company (he made it possible to have a new car delivered on Christmas Day)…. I was about to say all that until, before we reached to our car on the parking, the very zealous check-out receptionist lady ran after us to check in our luggage if we didn’t "mistakenly" packed missing bath towels… of course these had been picked up by the maid..
